CKFinder Error. The file browser is disabled for security reasons.
I was getting an error when running Joomla 1.5 and and a image browser from editors like CKEditor, JCE and JoomlaCK. I tryed to browse for images to put into my articles but kept getting this error, The file browser is disabled for security reasons. Please contact your system administrator and check the CKFinder configuration file. I looked around and finally managed to solve the problem after a long error and try also with help of forum suggestions. I initially thought that it might be a server error, because the website in question is on a new server and the error does not occur on my other websites. Anyway, I haven't found a solution for the server part and the solution you find here is only solved through CKFinder plugin in Joomla. The problem is quite easy to figure when you know were too look.
Removing key.jpg from Joomla Registration Page
I wanted to remove the key.jpg image from the Joomla 1.5 website I created, it didn't go together with the theme of the site. I wanted to leave an option for possibly change it to something else later on. This image is used in the login and the logout page of your Joomla website. But first thing first, to remove the key.jpg image from your Joomla website walk through the following steps.
Make fileinfo extension work
When installing RoundCube webmail I found out that the extension "Fileinfo" (also knows as fileinfo.so) wasn't working or installed and I wasn't sure how to get it fixed. After checking my server I found out that its not even installed or configured to work with PHP and Apache. The settings are already set is my Apache vhost as they are supposed to and if you don't know the settings they you can find it here below. The solution I'm posting here worked very well for me and its probably going to work for you as well. For this solution I'm running a Ubuntu LAMP Server.
